FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Therapy with Rehabilitation) is a soft tissue treatment where the doctor/practitioner uses a stainless steel tool to remove and break up scar tissue in the patient's body. When a patient has a past trauma or injury, the body develops scar tissue to help a certain part of the body heal. Overtime through the healing process the scar tissue is removed from the body. Some cases the scar tissue gets bundled and trapped in the muscle fibers and the fascia layer of the body. FAKTR treatment uses the tool to dig into the fascia and muscle layers to break up the scar tissue (knots) to restart the healing process. The treatment also involves the patient moving through certain ranges of motion (ROM) or actions to help break up the scar tissue to improve the function/pain/ROM of a body part.
